How It Works

From recording a video to placing a QR sticker — here's everything you need to know.

1

Find a place and record your story

Go to the place you love — a park, a bench, a mural, your favourite tree. Stand there and record a short video (under 2 minutes is ideal) talking about why it matters.

What makes a great video:

  • Show the place as you talk — pan around, point things out
  • Be personal — share your connection to the place
  • Keep it positive and inviting
  • Avoid filming identifiable bystanders without consent
2

Upload and tell us about the location

Use our simple upload form to submit your video. You can enter the address manually, or upload a photo and we'll extract the GPS location from the image metadata. Choose what type of place it is (park, tree, mural, etc.) and give it a title and description.

3

We review your submission

Every video is reviewed before it goes live. We check that it follows our community guidelines, is filmed at the tagged location, and doesn't contain inappropriate content. This usually takes less than 48 hours.

4

Get your QR code sticker

Once approved, we generate a branded QR code sticker for you. You can download the sticker as a high-resolution PDF and print it yourself on weatherproof sticker paper.

Printing tip: For outdoor durability, use waterproof vinyl sticker paper (available at office supply stores or online). Regular paper won't last in the weather.

5

Place it (with permission!)

Place the sticker at or near the location. Make sure you have permission from the property owner, council, or land manager. See our Terms of Service for full sticker placement guidelines.

Important: You are solely responsible for sticker placement. Never place stickers on private property without consent, heritage structures, traffic signs, or emergency infrastructure.

6

People scan and connect

When someone passes by and scans the QR code with their phone camera, they're taken directly to your video. They hear your story, from someone who stood in that exact spot, and see the place through your eyes.

Your story appears on our interactive map too, so people can discover places from home.
